Coming Events

Our 2020 AGM will be held on Friday 24th April at 3pm at the Elstead Hotel, Bournemouth. We hope to make this the start of a long weekend to which we will be inviting members from other Sections.
So please book the dates now. We don't want the British Section to be too badly outnumbered by our overseas visitors! Full details will be appearing and we shall be needing bookings by 24th January 2020 at the latest.

A visit to the 15" gauge 13.5 mile long Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway is planned for Tuesday 10th September 2019.
Meet at St.Pancras International station by the ticket barriers to Southeastern Trains (upper level) platforms at 11.00 for a 11.12 departure to Ashford. It is planned to visit the New Romney station and model railway, travel to Dungeness and back through to Hythe by RH&DR train. Priv tickets are available to retired and active rail staff and also concessions are available for seniors over 60 on the RH&DR. The expected return to St.Pancras International is at 18.54 based on present rail and bus timetables.”

London reunions.
London reunions will continue on the third Thursday of the month at the Royal Oak in Tabard Street, nominally from 16h00 onwards until about 19h00, until the end of August.  From then on we plan to move around the country a bit.  The September reunion is likely to be in Reading.  Watch this space for more details.

EUROPEAN DAYS IN LINZ, AUSTRIA, 2019
Sunday, 22nd September, to Saturday, 28th.
Details of the proposed programme appear in our current newsletter. Booking is now closed.

EUROPEAN DAYS IN BULGARIA, 2020
24th – 30th May.  (A change from the dates originally planned.)
Organised by the Romanian section of AEC, helped by Bulgarian colleagues who, we hope, will form a new Bulgarian section.
A provisional programme for this also appears in our current newsletter.

FEANDC is an organisation with similar social aims to AEC; and like AEC has sections in a number of European countries, including some which do not have AEC sections. They will be entertaining visitors from their other member countries in Glasgow from Thursday 5th to Monday 9th September.
More details about this event can be found in the newsletter, and all other information about FEANDC is available from Peter Davies whose contact details are on page 2 of the newsletter.
